How do I schedule an appointment to receive my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine?
If you’re eligible to schedule, Connecticut advises that you schedule your appointment as soon as possible because of the limited supply of vaccines per week. Making an appointment in advance is the only way a health center or clinic can register you to get vaccinated. It is also suggested that when making your appointment for the first dose that you start planning for the second dose as well.
Here is how to schedule an appointment to receive a COVID-19 vaccine:
Option 1: Call by Phone. Connecticut’s COVID-19 Vaccine Appointment Assist Line, is 877-918-2224. This line is open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, 7 days a week. (call times may be longer due to an increase in scheduling).
Option 2: Enroll in Vaccine Administration Management System (VAMS).
VAMS is a simple online tool that can be used to schedule a vaccine and to locate a center/clinic that offers the vaccine. You can easily sign up to get an account by using this form.
All you have to do is follow these simple 4 steps:
- Enroll into VAMS so that they can email you a link to create an account.. Look out for an email from [email protected] (look in your spam folder)
- Create an account
- Register your information
- Choose a location and time slot that works for you.
Tip: Start preparing for your second dose as you want to follow the timeframe Pifizer and Moderna recommends in between doses.
Option 3: Sign up with local health centers and clinics directly through their systems
You can also locate centers and clinics that offer the vaccine and sign up through their portal/system. At this time, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Hartford Health, Trinity Health and a few others are beginning to offer direct sign ups through their systems for COVID-19 vaccine appointments. You can check out this list here for more information and navigation.
